2008 St Margaret's Church, Sparham, Norfolk, UK The Tree of Life (3m x 3m)

This modern design is inspired by the bible verse; Revelations Chapter 22 verse 2.

It shows a floating vision of the tree of life with the twelve fruits. Five of these fruits also serve in this design to represent Christ's wounds on the cross. The river of life flows through the middle of the trunk and there are animals in the foliage and roots. The fresh, bright green glass colour represents new life. The movement of the lead lines suggests God's healing and redemption. The window is in memory of Major Douglas Sayer, a keen conservationist. The heraldic shields of Mrs and Major Sayer and of Mr Sayers' two regiments are in the tracery lights, as is a small portrait of a favourite family dog.
