 Care and Commissioning

There is currently a marked upsurge in public interest in architectural stained glass. Large numbers of Millennium windows have been commissioned for churches, schools etc. A renewed interest in interior design at home has led many private individuals to commission decorative glass on a domestic scale. We are also becoming familiar with the sight of large scale glass walls (on Jubilee Line stations, London) and stained glass roofs (the Victoria Quarter, Leeds).

The Glaziers Company supports the design and execution of excellent new commissions in architectural glass as an important aspect of maintaining and developing the tradition. If you are considering commissioning new work we recommend you click on Practising Artists. You can also visit the website of the British Society of Master Glass Painters at www.bsmgp.org.uk which has a list of artists and also offers full information on the commissioning process.
