We are one of the Ancient Livery
Companies of the City of London.
- Our origins date back to 1328, the reign of Edward III.
- Our prime focus is on the art and craft of historic and contemporary
stained and decorative glass for buidings.
- One fifth of our members are practising
artists.
Our key objectives are to;
- Provide technical and financial support for the restoration
and conservation of historic and otherwise important stained
glass.
- Encourage young artists and craftsmen to develop their skills
and knowledge through a programme of competitions
and awards
- Assist in the relocation of historic stained glass from deconsecrated
churches to other churches or suitable public buildings
- Support local schools in the London Borough of Southwark.
- Maintain an active social programme which places special emphasis
on enjoying stained glass
- Uphold the traditions of the City of London
