Competitions and Awards - Sponsors Page

The Glaziers' Company organises the only annual national design competition for students and young artists in stained and decorative glass - the Stevens Competition.

The brief is for an actual location, and we normally receive between forty and sixty entries for the competition, from students, recent graduates and young artists throughout the UK.

The Glaziers' Trust provides the substantial cash prizes, and in the past few years the Company has also been able to find sponsors to commission one of the prizewinners to turn his or her design into reality. This has raised the profile of the competition among the colleges offering degree courses in architectural glass, and the Stevens Competition is now included in the curriculum of several courses. The commissions have also kick-started the careers of several talented glass artists.

Previous sponsors include British Midland plc, Marks and Spencer plc, the Birmingham Assay Office, UCH NHS Trust, as well as a number of private individuals. All have found the experience stimulating and enjoyable.

Could you be a sponsor of the Stevens Competition?

If you, your Company or organisation, are interested in finding out more about providing a location and/or financial support for the Stevens Competition, please contact the Clerk's Office at Glaziers Hall, 9 Montague Close, London SE1 9DD.
