St. John the Divine, Kennington, London
Set in an area of some privation, the Church of St. John the Divine, Kennington, has installed a fine pair of 11 foot high windows by Clayton & Bell dating from about 1890. These were originally in the church of St John in Highbury Vale, North London, which was declared redundant and demolished.
The process of removing stained glass from its original setting demands great care as the retaining masonry is chipped away to release it.
